Commercial mortgage holders may be interested in the case of a commercial landlord who issued a seven-figure bill to a council for repairs to his building.
The offices in Bournemouth were reported to have been left in disarray.
Repairs for Dorset House in Lansdowne are expected to cost £1 million. Some 265 people worked in the offices and were due to be transferred to other buildings.
According to the Bournemouth Echo, the council made the move to save money, but the owner of the building issued a £1,075,000 repair bill.
The landlord of the property is in talks with council officers, who had set aside £200,000 for the costs.
"It happens all the time in the private sector and it does when a public sector organisation is coming out of a private building," said councillor John Beesley.
Bournemouth Council states that six Overview and Scrutiny Panels help them to develop any policy and monitor its performance.
